How to control High Blood Pressure?

I am a 24 year old male. Both my parents have high blood pressure. I first realized that I had high blood pressure (160/90) when I was 22. When I went to the doctor I was told that I was too young to take any medication and was told to eat healthy and exercise regularly. Now my blood pressure fluctuates a lot ranging from 120/68 to 160/110. But normally its around 140/90. I have been eathing healthy and exercising regularly, but I don't see any significant reduction in my blood pressure. Any advice would be highly appreciated. How to control High Blood Pressure?
Three top ways to lower blood pressure:

Try to cut out as much salt as possible.

Drink lots of water.

Get plenty of aerobic exercise.

Sounds like you are doing these. Get a second opinion from another doctor. If non-medicine methods aren't working, then medication is needed. How to control High Blood Pressure?
I'm surprised your doctor told you you're too young. Given your family history and the fact you're watching your diet and exercising and still have high readings, I would think trying a low dose of medications would be in order. Are you under a lot of stress regularly? Perhaps you should seek a second medical opinion. Also, there are some tests that should be run to rule out certain pre-existing diseases and conditions.
relaxation and meditation techniques.

you could try yoga or some other form of physical relaxation.

i would actually recommend some sort of breathing form

(ala anna coy's work) but when you relax, your body's tissues let go of the water they have been retaining. The ';fight or flight'; response causes your body to retain water. True relaxation allows your body to let go of the preparation for hardship.

I would say find some sort of relaxing practice that you do each

day to teach yourself/your body how to truly relax. Advanced

yogis can easily do things like control their blood pressure and heart rate. sounds like you could benefit from that.

you might also consider biofeedback to learn how to control

your body for this purpose.

A cardiologist must give you a checkup...Maybe you do need medicine. You can ask him or her if you can have enalapril or valsartan.
Exercise. Water. Get a life, you sound normal.

How does the air flow rate controlled by the orifice differential pressure affect the make up rate of water?

cooling towerHow does the air flow rate controlled by the orifice differential pressure affect the make up rate of water?
What orifice are you referring to?

The make up rate of a cooling tower is dependent on the heat load on the tower. Fans pull ambient air through the tower, contacting the water droplets of the tower spray from the distribution nozzles. The cooling does not necessarily occur by just lowering the temp of the water. Most of the cooling occurs by the process of evaporation of the circulating water. Water is not blown out the top of the tower. Water vapor is exiting the top of the tower. For every pound of water evaporated, you remove about 1000 BTU of heat from the cooling water system.

Suppose that a steam plant is operating a steam turbine generator, with a steam flow of 300,000 lbm/hr. The exhaust of the steam turbine is dumped to a condenser to be condensed back into water to be reused by thte boiler. To condense the steam, you must remove 1000 btu (this is called the latent heat of vaporization) from each pound of steam. This heat is transferred to the cooling water flowing through the condenser. Its flow rate (in pounds/hr) is much higher than that of the steam. Now, the heat must be removed from the cooling water in the tower. In fact we must remove the heat equal to the latent heat that was present in the steam before it was condensed. That means that we must evaporate 300,000 pound/hr of our cooling water, which means we are losing about 600 gallons of water per minute. That's a lot of water to be made up!How does the air flow rate controlled by the orifice differential pressure affect the make up rate of water?
The air flow rate is controlled by the orifice. Change in the orifice causes change in the differential pressure, which is how it controls the flow of air. More differential pressure, less air, less differential pressure, more air.

In a cooling tower, the make up water is the water used to replace the water lost in the cooling process.

So there are two mechanism by which the air flow rate could alter the rate of water make up.

The first is that the more air there is, the more water is caught up in the air flow, and leaves the tower.

The second is that the more air there is, the more cooling is done by air, and not the water, so the demand for water decreases.

It depends on the design of the tower whether the first or second mechanism has the greater effect.

If the tower is relatively large and the air velocity small, this ensures that very little water escapes, the second mechanism is dominant, and as air increases, water usage decreases.

If it is small, and the air velocity high, more water will be drawn out of the tower if more air is used, so the consumption goes up and not down.

Where can I find a Toro lawn sprinkler controller that is controlled by water pressure instead of low voltage?

The system was installed around 1976, and has worked great. My problem is the zone dial has a hair line crack and is leaking water. I do not want to go electric, because I have no idea where the valves are at with out digging up the yard.Where can I find a Toro lawn sprinkler controller that is controlled by water pressure instead of low voltage?
I am not sure what you want - anything that is pressure-activated would seem to defeat the purpose of your timer, unless you are suggesting a low-pressure cut-off?

But you have several options to control water-flow if that is the only issue and if the zone dial cannot be repaired. We keep four of the units listed below that allow us to pretty much custom-program our soaker hoses for their location, type of plantings, length of hose and time of day. We stagger them so not more than one runs at any given time and they operate irrespective of pressure and load. Replace the one 9V battery each year and you are done. There is also a manual on/off option if needed.

Similar units exist for hard-plumbing directly into the feed line, or one of these may be installed with the correct fittings if you are operating a central irrigation system.

I am 23 and I have problems controlling my blood pressure?

I am a 23 years old male and couple a weeks ago I found out that I have

a high blood pressure.I have been working out for about 5 years now

and I used many different supplements like creatine, protein, amino acids

and caffeine staff. Three weeks ago I didn;t feel good and I went to

the ER cuz my BP was 150/98 and they did a blood test and said that I am

ok and there is nothing wrong with my kidneys, heart, liver and I am

healthy, but couple a days after same thing happend and I had to go back

to the ER with the same BP readings. I got very scared, they checked

me out again and they said anxiety is the problem. The doc

put me on 1mg Xanax pills for the anxiety and said that I ll be fine .Next day I

called cardiologist and went to see him, he sent me for additional blood

tests and urine tests and EKG and ECHO cardiogram also. When the

results came he called me and he said that everything is compliteley normal.

I stoped all supplements and work out. My BP is stil going up and

For blood pressure do these exercises everyday. You will see the benefits within days, as you can check BP yourself.Continue the exercise once a day, after you are better. You may be able to reduce/stop your medication over longer term, although the doctor will say you have be on medication for life.

Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after one minute.

This is one cycle of anulom vilom.

Repeat this cycle for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).

You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep long breaths into the lungs. You can do this while sitting on floor or chair or lying in bed.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.

Duration : 5 to 15 times

Do it and reap the benefits, and send me a message after 4 weeks.I am 23 and I have problems controlling my blood pressure?
you made a very good decision to stop taking different kinds of supplements. Some of those supplements have stuff in them that causes your heart to beat fast and make the blood pressure rise. Sounds like you are in good health. Your numbers are less than borderline. give the supplements time to get out of your system, then monitor how your bp does. If it has not gone down after a month of being off the supplements, then go back to your doctor.
Stop taking stimulants like that caffeine thing.
I have blood pressure problems too. I take a pill.

Go to www.healtline.com it might help you
You are right to be concerned... your BP is elevated. This can lead to many other health problems. That's why it's important to control it.

I'm assuming you have a home monitor? Is that where you're getting your readings?

Before taking a reading you should wait for 30 minutes after exercising, smoking, having caffeine or alcohol. Then sit quietly for five minutes. Take two readings about 3 to 5 minutes apart.

If possible, take readings several times throughout the week at different times of the day. A BP log can be found on this page: http://www.smart-heart-living.com/high-b鈥?/a>

You'll also find lots of other information about BP, what is considered high BP, a link to find home monitors.

But most importantly for you there are tips and links to ways you can control your blood pressure.

Good Luck!
The fear you're getting may really be more linked to anxiety than your blood pressure. You just happen to be checking your blood pressure to see if that's what's causing the stress you feel. People's blood pressure can change a lot more than yours and still not feel it. Your blood pressure is on the high side, but there is a lot of variation in blood pressure in a population of healthy people.

Just take care of your body and really try to lower the anxiety. I think you're pretty convinced that something is wrong with your body, but you may just be anxious--especially if you've had so many tests and they still think you're fine.

Aerobic exercise on a regular basis. I take beta blockers and it works great as well, the drug is called Quinipril.Any unfailing simple method of controlling high blood pressure based on experience?
EXERCISE! I NO LONGER TAKE BP MEDICATION!Any unfailing simple method of controlling high blood pressure based on experience?
Depends on it's cause. Changing diet, doing relaxation techniques, or petting a cat or dog will all reduce blood pressure.
Yes, exercise and eat a diet high in protein, low in salt and fats. Salt in small amounts is ok, but even small amounts can raise blood pressure. Get a check up. You may have other issues causing your high blood pressure.
Yoga and pranayama will help you. But one should find out the reason for the BP first. It can be due to pathological or psychological reasons. You can take one rudved ayurvedic capsule daily as a preventive. Or drink Noni herbal fruit juice twice a day in water.
Hello:

High Blood Pressure a.k.a. Hypertension can be controlled in various ways with advice from your own doctor since everyone is different when it comes to their hypertension needs! I would check with your doctor first, and follow his or her advice as to if they want you to follow a diet, lose weight, take medication,etc...

High Blood Pressure can be controlled by doing the following things:

If your doctor prescribes high blood pressure medication for you, make sure that you take your medication EXACTLY AS PRESCRIBED BY YOUR DOCTOR!! The only reason I say that is because some people stop taking their medication once they start feeling better, and you should contact your doctor's office and meet with your doctor before going off of any high blood pressure medication! If you are taking any high blood pressure medication and you have severe side effects,or if you start to feel really ill, than be sure to contact your doctor's office IMMEDIATELY,so they can advise you on what course of action that they want you to take next!

Diet is CRUCIAL when it comes to controlling high blood pressure and one of the culprits in food is salt! Salt is hidden in MANY FOODS that people aren't even aware of,so please READ FOOD LABELS VERY CAREFULLY!! There is a diet called the DASH Diet, but ALWAYS TALK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY DIET!! The DASH Diet is for people with hypertension and it helps to either limit,or eliminate alot of salty foods in your diet, therefore providing you with different and more healty food options!

Alot of foods such as bologna, bacon, dill pickles, canned soups, frozen dinners, french fries, pizza, etc are just loaded with alot of salt!

If you are overweight,it is a good idea to talk with your doctor about starting a healthy diet plan,as well as exercise plan, and an overall lifestyle change, since being overweight puts alot of strain on your heart, and can cause serious health complications!

Last but not least,BE HONEST with your doctor and tell him or her ALL OF THE MEDICATIONS that you are currently taking because even over the counter medications,or certain vitamins or vitamin supplements can affect the way that your body absorbs your high blood pressure medication! Also, make sure to talk with your doctor or pharmacist about consuming grapefruit juice when you are on high blood pressure medicine, because again it could affect your health!! I hope this has been helpful and good luck to you!! ;-)

  • How pranayam(breathing exerises) controls the blood pressure?

Prana is the Life force and yama is to control it...Prana is not the same as Breath(usually people think both are the same).

When the Prana is controlled, the heart rate drops, one feels very relaxed and calm and the blood circulation -or flow-is smoother.

Since all these are directly connected with the Blood Pressure, there is a healthy drop in the BP..

Pl. practise this everyday for abt 10 min...How pranayam(breathing exerises) controls the blood pressure?
    Dear Friend,

Pranayam as you know is is an excercise done by controling our breath. Control over a human body as you know is all depending on the mind. The mind as you know is like a monkey jumping from place to place for which if you do not have any control can cause excitement which in turn causes for higher heart beat.

While doing pranayam we are try to get control over the mind in the sense that we are trying to breath in a systemtic way making our mind body and sprit to singernoise and have a steady thought that enable us to calm down our self and to settle ourself into within us where you feel a contenment resulting in a well balanced heart beat. This means the pressure in you blood streams is alos on a normal level. Over and above this while doing this excercise you are inhailing fresh air and letting it flow through the blood streams enabling the bood to be purified.

The consatant flow of the purified blood lets you have a purified thought in turn make your mind to calm down resulting in keeping you blood pressure normal. How pranayam(breathing exerises) controls the blood pressure?
the oygen concentration in the blood
pranayam slows down %26amp; calms down the mind ,resulting in slow heart beat, idle postures ensures higher rate of oxygen in the blood which refreshes the whole system resulting in normalisation of blood pressure.

    it is a multipronged solution to no. of diseases,remember when your MIND is calm %26amp;

at peace half of the work is done.if one increses the duration of Pranayam it can even solve serious diseases like Paralysis etc.

you will feel energised after doing it , To perform itone need not need sit in an asana only one can sit on chair etc

I can go on %26amp; on on this.

it is something indispensible in today's world
