I was given nifedipine to control high blood pressure but felt more giddy.?

So I when for a ECG check. ECG was taken a few hours after my medication (nifedipine), and the result showed that I had bradycardiac. My heart beat around 50 (I seldom exercise, is it normal?). I will be referring to a specialist soon. Now , I'm wondering whether the result was caused by the medication? Or originally I'm already having slow heart beat and I should not have taken nifedipine?

Currently stop this medication and my heart beat improve slightly but still low about 53.

Some say I should continue my medication because I still have high blood pressure which causes my neck ache. Need advice seriously. Thank you.I was given nifedipine to control high blood pressure but felt more giddy.?
It's unlikely that this drug caused your bradycardia. This drug has a side-effect of causing tachycardia (more rapid heartbeat) so that's probably why your doctor prescribed it. Your bradycardia isn't problematic per se, but it does limit which hypertension drugs you can take, because many of them might make your hearbeat even lower. You'll probably will have to try several of them before you find the right one. Good luck.

P.S. Personally, I also have a high blood pressure and bradycardia, but I also exercise a lot. I run 20 miles a week, so that contributes to my low heartbeat. I take Mavik (trandolapril) which is an ACE inhibitor.
