Is an automotive AC Dryer unit pressure controlled by a schrader valve?

1996 Mercedes C280 AC dryer unit has two sensors/switches mounted into it. One pressure switch and the other a temperature sensor.

Is it safe to replace the pressure switch without draining the refrigerant from the system first, isn't there a schrader valve built into the dryer unit to allow replacement of these two parts? Is an automotive AC Dryer unit pressure controlled by a schrader valve?
Yes, there should be a schraeder valve on the drier where the sensors mount.
