What is pressure regulated volume controlled ventilation?

When a patient is on a ventilator, PRVC (pressure regulated volume control) is a vent setting. The breaths are delivered to preset volumes, and can either be ventilator initiated or patient initiated. So a person can take a breath on their own, but the vent will still help, or if they ';forget'; to breathe, the vent will do it for them. What is pressure regulated volume controlled ventilation?
