Can blood pressure be controlled by fasting?

Can we control blood pressure by fasting.

If its incresed will it decrease, or if its incresed will it decrease?

either ways will it be normal?

can it be controlled in that way?Can blood pressure be controlled by fasting?
Yes and NO. When you deprived your self of food, say when ur fasting, your potassium level drops coz its water base,so you can easily loss them by sweating, so fasting is not advisable, you can get a heart attact or cardiac arrest when ur potassium level gets too low and when you ever eat certain food thats high in sodium , your blood pressure will likely shoots up.The foods you take will eventually have effects on your BP, so fasting nor o overeating is not the answer, mederation is the key..I have hi BP too, but I have been able to control it by eating the right foods, exercising and avoiding stress. I know its hard, but hey! its less expensive..Can blood pressure be controlled by fasting?
Blood pressure is not directly connected to your eating habits. Blood pressure is just that - the amount of pressure exerted by the blood against the blood vessels of your body and within your heart. Eating healthy foods will help lower your BP along with exercise. But the best control for chronic hypertension (high BP) is to consult your doctor and perhaps take anti-hypertensive medications. Best of luck to you.
There are certain food types that can effect blood pressure.

SALT, ALCOHOL: increase longer term blood pressure.

CAFFIENE (tea, coffee, chocolate, cola) : increases BP transiently.

Reducing these types of food/drink may reduce BP.

Fasting that results in dehydration can also reduce BP but can effect the kidneys and is dangerous.

No Sir, No. It will aggravate. Blood pressure is very dangerous. It will give hell of a lot of problems.

If you are diagnosed with High / low blood pressure you have to have medication till your death. Even if you feel normal and no pressure shows on measurement you should not stop, or increase or reduce the medicines.

Exercise, controlled food habit with more vegetables, fruits, juice and large water intake could keep pressure under control
no. but losing weight does. for every 10 kg weight loss, bp drops by approximately 5-20 mmHg. please see your doctor.
I don't know. I don't have high blood pressure. However there are reports on the web of fasting as a treatment for HBP--whether trustworthy or not, I don't know. I certainly wouldn't depend on Answers answers, but probably you were hoping for someone with HBP who can speak from experience. I hope you get such answers. I'll be interested to see. You can find info just as I did by entering fasting high blood pressure into web search box.
