Come stop us...Why is the world not pressuring usa to control the wastage of fuel they do?
Because they are making all kinds of money through the oil that they are selling to the US and other countries. If they didn't have the demand that they did, the oil would do them no good.
In the mid-1970s during the oil embargo's, people went on the offensive saying that the United States needed to find alternatives to our dependence on foreign oil to drive our vehicles.
The embargo was lifted and the once again began flowing and the alternatives were soon forgotten or pushed to the back burner.
It is ironic that oil companies were one of the few industries that showed a profit in 2008, while thousands were loosing their jobs and homes in the current recession.
Once again when the price of gasoline topped $4.00 a gallon, people started talking about alternative fuels and the need to stop America's dependence on foreign suppliers, and the need for Hybrid vehicles that used alternatives to gasoline.
Once again the price of oil bottomed out because of the current recession and the price of oil dropped and people started paying $1.40 a gallon, people forgot about Hybrid vehicles and other alternatives to our dependence upon foreign oil.
The bad thing about depending on oil from the Middle-East is the volatile situations that commonly occur through wars and insurgencies that are a common occurrence in that region of the world.
America has oil in Alaska and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico that Former President Bush signed legislation that would allow oil companies to drill, in these areas, which will probably be overturned by the Obama White House, who has no idea of the needs of the American people.
Drilling in Alaska and Gulf would decrease some of the countries reliance on foreign oil, while alternatives are found.Why is the world not pressuring usa to control the wastage of fuel they do?
and you think that the technology of the other nations is better than anything we have here in the US?
in reality we are conserving more fuel than any other country bar maybe a couple.
IDK why don't they? OOh I do know, they can't, they have no control over us just as we have no control over them. The only pressure they could apply to us would hurt them more than it would us.
We don't waste fuel; we just use heaps of it, which is our right.
If the rest of the industrialized world is THAT concerned, THEY can ride bikes to work.
Because all are doing the same in one way or another.
