Well any efforts to control hypertension can be given by a doctor which I recommend but some helpful tips would be to lower your daily sodium intake, regular exercise, and avoid fatty foods. Be sure to consult with a doctor before you begin any type of diets so that he will be able to discuss your needs and pinpoint the areas where you need a little help. If you're unsure about medications speak with your doctor about trying to do it without drugs. If that fails speak with him about the various drugs and their possible side effects. Some of the older drugs are both very safe and extremely inexpensive.

I am sure you have been told this before - but try and cut down on salt. You can replace it with other herbs and spices and lemon limes and chile. It only takes a few weeks to get so used to no salt that you don't miss it at all.





Also do something relaxing like yoga - or gentle walking to help you relax.

I have seen all answers follow all of them.First take medicine for hyper- tension it increases your quality of life. If you spend some more time on thinking what to do it will decrease your quality of life .It leads to heart diseases ,hence go for medicine and try all other suggestion defenitly you can control high b.p. then you stop taking medicines. Do meditation daily.
Exercise, get plenty of liquids, eat right (not a starvation diet!), and chill out.

The best way is to change your Lifestyle... Incase you are overweight (Check your BMI) then first step would be to reduce your weight (a 15 Day three times fruit diet would ensure that). You gotto supplement the diet with Physical activity as well. To begin with 15 minute brisk walk everyday and gradually increasing it.





Try avoiding oily and fatty food during this period. Jus stick to your requisite calorie intake and dont exceed it. With fruits the advantage is they get digested easily.
