Pressure about birth control..?

My boyfriend plans on moving in when he's 18, he's opposed to birth control but I kind of want to get on it because of my periods being so heavy and plus if we do decide to get sexually active.well it'll be a good thing I'm on considering I'll only be 18 also but when I asked him why he doesn't like it he said because it changes your hormones and makes you sterall. I can see where he's getting at but not all birth controls do that. I'm afraid if I get on it he wont move in and also I really want to reassure him so please, could someone tell me some very good birth controls that..

1.Doesn't make you sterall

2.Doesn't make you gain weight

3.Doesn't change your hormones/who you are/etc

I really want to give him some reassurencePressure about birth control..?
First of all, the birth control pill like yasmin or alesse doesn't make you sterall(the older ones in the past might've, but these days there's no risk for that), of course it has about a 99% efficiency so you don't get pregnant, but when you stop it's usage, your body goes back to normal and can have babies no problem. About the weight gain problem, it depends of the people, it can increase your appetite a little but you can control that (I've read that there's no scientific proof to the pill making you gain weight). And it doesn't change who you are either. The first three months you may have light side effects like feeling nauseas, or mood fluctuations, but after 3 months, your body gets use to it.

Just remember that a condom protects you again STI's, something the birthcontrol pill doesn't do. And also, a pill and condom together is even better protection against pregnancy, so unless you feel safe with just the pill, I'd get him to wear the condom too.Pressure about birth control..?
tell him to wear a condom, He should take charge of precautions.
1. No hormonal birth control should make you steril, that's bullshit.

2. All hormonal birth control has the potential to make you gain weight, but i've never had a problem with it.

3. All hormonal birth control changes your hormones, that's how it prevents pregnancy, by hormonal manipulation that suppresses ovulation. But it shouldn't change who you are. If you have a sevear emotional reaction to one pill, you can keep trying different types untill you find one that works. Most women can find a pill that works for them.

It should be your choice. He should respect the fact that you want a very effective form of contraception.

I recommend using a condom as well if you don't want to get pregnant because, while the pill is very effective, it's very easy to screw up too. Also, if you insist on not using a condom, you both need to have STD screens.
1 The shot can make you temporarily sterile for up to a year

2 BC isn't to blame for weight gain, its a mind over matter thing

3 The shot is straight progestin (it make your ovaries dormant so you cannot ovulate). The pill is progestin and estrogen. The estrogen stabilizes the lining of your uterus. So none of the hormones in any type of BC can 'change who you are'
