My birth control pills may be causing my high blood pressure. What other forms of birth control could I use?

My best friend has a birth control patch that she wears on her butt cheek. She's had the shot %26amp; taken the pill forms before. Both have made her gain substantial amounts of weight, but the patch hasn't. I'm not quite sure about high blood pressure being reduced by switching to the patch, but I'm positive that it's worth looking into! Good luck!
