What is the difference between attenalol and coversyl tablets for controlling blood pressure...?

...and what would the reason for a doctor to change you from one to the other? What is the difference between attenalol and coversyl tablets for controlling blood pressure...?
They both work to control high blood pressure but in slightly different ways.

Sometimes they are used in combination together - sometimes one at a time. Doctors usually change from one to the other for one of the following reasons:

* one of them is not controlling your blood pressure well so the doctor wants to try the other one

* one of them is causing side effects .... etc ...etc as above

* one of them is interfering with the effects of other medication that you are on alongside your blood pressure tablets.

Changing from one to another is very common and is certainly nothing for you to be worried about

Hope this helps

Atenolol is a beta blocker and Conversyl is an ACE inhibitor. Beta blockers work by blocking ephinephrine, ACE inhibitors block angiotensine converting enzymes.
