What is the best way to control my blood pressure without having to take medication?

My b/p has been high lately, and i don't have a doc to see yet.Does anyone have any home remedies that will help. What is the best way to control my blood pressure without having to take medication?
I treat blood pressure rather aggresively if lifestyle changes don't work soon. Weight control, stop alcohol, and salt in the diet are the most prevalent. However, the ramifications of high blood pressure, especially in the africanamerican population are so great that you should look into early rather than later treatment with medications if you can't get lifestyle changes to work in a few weeks. The biggest reason for blood pressure is idiopathic...which means we don't know, but we do know what happens to you if not treated. What is the best way to control my blood pressure without having to take medication?
